A video editor an assistant can actually use.

Vidmoat exposes the same project document and editing reducer used by the app through a permissioned MCP server. Your assistant can inspect, edit, preview and render your projects after you authorize it.

Connect

Use an OAuth-compatible MCP client or a Vidmoat API key. Keep keys on your server and send them as a bearer token.

The server supports Streamable HTTP JSON-RPC. Call initialize, then tools/list and tools/call. The live tool schemas and descriptions returned by tools/list are authoritative.

Data and permissions

Nothing is sent to an assistant until it calls a tool. Depending on the permission and call, Vidmoat may return project documents, clip names and timings, captions and transcripts, media metadata, rendered video frames, generation results, or exported file URLs. Write, render and AI tools can change projects or spend credits and allowances. Plugin tools can send their arguments to the plugin operator.

You approve permissions during connection, and can see and revoke any assistant connection at vidmoat.com/oauth/connected. Revoking deletes that connection’s access and refresh tokens, so its next call is refused. You can also request access, correction or deletion. Each MCP tool call is recorded in the MCP call log for 90 days: the tool, the assistant, the project, the outcome and credits used, never your prompts, text, media links or tokens. That is separate from the REST API request log, which covers calls to /api/v1 and is kept for 30 days. Project and media retention follows the account’s normal retention schedule.
