Desktop and mobile apps

Get Vidmoat for iPhone, Android, Windows or Apple Silicon Mac, and learn which features need an internet connection.

The desktop app

Download the current installers from the [Vidmoat download page](/download):

  • [Windows 10 or 11, x64](/download/windows).
  • [macOS 13 or later, Apple Silicon](/download/mac). The Mac app is signed and notarized by Apple. On an Intel Mac, use the web editor.

Linux is shown as coming soon and has no build.

The desktop app can open local footage without uploading it first. Playback depends on your computer and the source file. Sign-in, AI tools and cloud projects need an internet connection; AI analysis and cloud tools may also need an upload. Your account, plan and credits carry across devices.

The trap worth knowing. A clip added from local disk in the desktop app exists only on that machine. Open the project on the web and it shows ⚠ Desktop-only file, and an export from the web will refuse, naming the clip. Either export from the desktop app, or upload that file so it lives in the cloud.

The phone app

Vidmoat is available for iPhone on the App Store and for Android on Google Play. Open [Vidmoat for iPhone](/download/iphone) (iOS 16.4 or later) or [Vidmoat for Android](/download/android) (Android 7.0 or later) for the store link, requirements and a guide to getting started. On Google Play the app is listed as Vidmoat: AI Video Editor. Sign in with your existing account to access your cloud projects.

Both apps are free to download. Your plan belongs to your account, so it applies in the apps and on the web alike.

The mobile web editor adapts its panels to the smaller screen. Its preview can lower resolution while you scrub or play to keep editing responsive. That preview setting does not determine your export resolution.

Did that not cover it?

Send us a ticket and we will answer. If you are signed in it arrives with your plan and any recent errors attached, so you do not have to describe them.
